My goodness, the amount of stuff we bought today was insane haha. About $200 spent at Sheng Siong and a looooong receipt. Repacked the stuff in urban room and we're pretty much geared for tomorrow.
Last service of the year! A lot of people from cell wasn't around today though. Service was centered around 1 Chronicles 16:7 - 36 (David's Song of Praise) and we spent some time reflecting on the year about to pass and the things to give praise unto God for. Needless to say the year has had it's share of disappointments and hasn't been the best of years but it definitely has been one of the greatest in term of the scope of experiences. Stepping into serving in church, H.I.P, the many great friendships forged in NUS cell/leaders cell/NUS, the job at Singapore Medical Council and the great people there, seeing me through another 42.195 and under 5 and a half hours as I had hoped for and of course the ability to bless people with gifts. Going beyond what started as just gifts for Christmas to birthdays and now also out of "fixed events" and more into "everyday life" ? Not really sure ho
The card to Pastor Michael Ross Watson at Leader's Advance, an MMS to Liane who wasn't too well and decided not to come for the cell Christmas party in the end. Yeah stuff like that, when I don't have the luxury of time to plan and walk around Art Friend to browse for materials and have all my resources of various kinds of paints and brushes, boards to make stencils; the occasional oddity like sand. Just making do with whatever is available and giving my best. I'm soo glad I bought all those colour pens, they have been amazingly useful! Yup, there's definitely SO MUCH to give thanks for this year.
I was quite sad that not many of us were around today since we were going to give the gift to the purple plate family, was hoping Da Lun could be our "spokesperson" since he's usually the one who helps order from them haha. But in the end Gim represented us and gave it to Anders. First he looked pretty shocked at why we were giving him something then as he looked at what people wrote and the line at the bottom "Thank you for all the great food and good times" he started smiling to himself. Hope the whole family will be blessed by the gift =) And Anders mentioned later that he attends saturday service! 4pm maybe?
There's still quite a bit of the finer details of the games I only just tied down, fixtures, score sheets, printing out the game instructions and timings for the i/c's. Have to quickly fill the cans with sand from West Coast Park tomorrow morning before meeting in church at 0930. Guess it's time to catch some sleep and tomorrow it's off to camp!
Oh and yes, a rough first go at working on the blog title:
